Car insurance coverages could also include collision coverage. This protects a driver from the unexpected expenses that comes with hitting another vehicle. Expenses that result from restoring or repairing the insured car will be shouldered by the insurance company, often subject to a deductible amount to be shelled out by the insured driver, in the event of damage due to a collision. In case the car insured proves to be irreparable, it is declared as a total loss and the cash value of the insured car is paid to the insured driver. Coverage for perils other than collision could also be included in a car insurance policy. These perils could include fire, weather damage, animal damage, and theft among others.
